About Us Mark C. Pope Associates, Incorporated is the oldest and largest independent, full service industrial motive, standby power, industrial sweeper/scrubber and aircraft support equipment dealer in Georgia and the other geographical areas we serve. MCP sells new and used equipment, leases and rents equipment; performs in-shop service, on-site service, and technical service over the phone. We stock a full compliment of spare parts for all the companies and equipment lines we represent. Mark C. Pope Associates, Incorporated was founded in 1950 as the original C&D Battery sales and service distributor for nine southern states. By 1962 the territory was reduced to two and one-half states (Georgia, Alabama and east Tennessee), and MCP sold and serviced only C&D batteries, Hobart chargers and Hobart ground power units. The electric fork lift truck market was our only customer base for batteries and chargers and only small airports purchased ground power equipment. By 1964 the battery territory was split once again and Mark C. Pope Associates was the exclusive C&D distributor for the state of Georgia and the Hobart Ground Power line was expanded to the original nine southeastern states. In the early 1980's MCP began selling and servicing industrial floor cleaning equipment to our Industrial Motive customer base. The business grew rapidly and as of 1985 we added dedicated sales and service people. Shortly after that we created a separate operating division for Industrial Sweepers and Scrubbers. In 1999 we expanded the floor cleaning business to Florida and opened a facility in Tampa , FL. In 2006 we added a new sweeper-scrubber facility in Jacksonville , FL with local sales and service. In a decade of outsourcing and downsizing, MCP has continued to grow due to its emphasis on customer service. We recently expanded our line of floor cleaning chemicals to better serve our Industrial Sweeper Scrubber customer base. We have doubled our Industrial Motive/Standby service force and added new high frequency battery chargers to our equipment line. The Ground Support group has added Hammonds Omni Directional Vehicles to our complement of equipment to service the general aviation industry. Mark C. Pope is an employee owned company.
